Attractions
Get in touch with nature and discover some of New Zealand's most famous flora and fauna in the misty Waitakere rainforest and heavily forested Hunua ranges.

The Waitemata Harbour and Hauraki Gulf are two of Auckland's most impressive natural attractions and being the watersport capital of New Zealand you'll find plenty of ways to explore them in the "City of Sails".

Take a walk on the cultural side amongst our many museums. There's the War Memorial Museum - home to the largest collection of Maori and Pacific artefacts in the world, the New Zealand National Maritime Museum and the Museum of Transport and Technology just to name a few.

While in Auckland don't miss out on meeting some of the world's most extraordinary inhabitants - like the local gannets at Muriwai Beach and the penguins at Kelly Tarlton's. If that's not enough, there's always the Auckland Zoo complete with lions, elephants, kiwis and New Zealand's own living dinosaur - the Tuatara as well as the Zoo Rainforest

Experience 360º views of the city at the top of Auckland's Sky Tower - the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere.

For those seeking more adventurous attractions try the rollercoasters, go-carts and motion master at Rainbow's End Theme Park, or get wild and wet at one of Auckland's water parks.

Activities
No matter which way you turn in Auckland there's always something fun, exciting and different to do. Within 35 minutes in any direction from the city centre you'll find something to do for everyone.

Explore Auckland's beautiful beaches by foot, seakayak or on board a sailing boat. Imagine riding a horse with the wind in your hair, the sun on your skin and only the sound of the surf breaking on an isolated 14 mile beach.
